This place is an authentic and true Jamaican restaurant. The oxtails here are the best tasting with true rich flavored broth. I love the food and the service here is exceptional. The beef patties are to die for, almost makes you think your back on the island having dinner. The restaurant is very clean and the food again is amazing along with the service and great prices makes this a recommended place to have lunch or dinner.
I've visited this restaurant multiple times and the food is consistently good. I am Jamaican so I can speak to the authenticity of the flavours. Most of the dishes are true to Jamaican cooking and so are the flavors. I have had the curried goat, curry chicken and oxtail with rice and peas, steam veg. These are all good dishes that you should try and the portions are good. I usually have a ting with my food- long time favorite from living in Jamaica. The patties are my least favourite thing on the menu. I am used to the taste of a juici or tastee patty in Jamaica- the golden krust patty just doesn't match up. The cooked food is delicious though!
My coworker picked up food for me today after smelling someone else’s lunch in the office. I ordered 2x mild beef patties, the curry chicken lunch special and a side of plantains. The lunch special came with rice, veggies and 1 plantain. However I love plantains and snack on them during the day. So first things first. I devoured the beef patties. There were so good and the crust was flakey. Oh perfect! I tasted the other items and they were all delicious. However I was full from the patties so the rest of the food will be my dinner for tonight. Since my food was delivered to me I would like to check the actual restaurant out.
Something was different on my last encounter here. I’m not sure if someone else was making the food or maybe they just changed food vendors but it wasn’t what I’ve had in the past. It seemed as if the portions have gotten smaller and the taste of the brown stew is off. Also the cabbage was still hard and not tender like it used to be. I’ll probably give them one more try to make sure it wasn’t just an off day. But the customer service is always great no complaints there.
Excellent service, friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Lots of options even vegetarian. Fair prices, great for fresh juice. I love golden crust and this isn’t another excellent location. Can’t wait to eat here again 15 and I’m full!
This is my new favorite Caribbean restaurant in the area. I'm from CT. And our family is part island. It's great to have authentic tasting food for someone to cook and u didn't have too. I get truly upset when I get Caribbean food in an American taste. Grrrr. They are always pleasant and plentiful. I spend a pretty penny and they give u a lot. Everything is delicious.. Good prices too.
